Please note:
Driehoek is an operating farm situated in the heart of the Cederberg about 240 kilometres from Cape Town on the N7.

We offer self catering facilities ranging from camping sites on grass alongside the river under shady trees with ablution facilities and electric points to fully equipped chalets.

Driehoek is a family friendly nature resort surrounded by magnificent mountains and ideal as a base for hiking to well-known landmarks such as Tafelberg, Sneeuberg, the Maltese Cross, Welbedacht and Panorama caves and the Wolfberg Arch.

Shorter walks are available around the farm area with various natural pools and sights such as a waterfall, old stone leopard cage, bushman paintings and bird watch points.

All the wooden cabins and the camping sites are on or within 30 meters of the river bank.

The groothuis and kothuis are situated closer to the mountain.

The central ablution facilities consist of toilets, hot showers and a scullery.

Bring own toiletries and bedding although limited bedding is available by arrangement at R 50 per person per weekend or such longer period as arranged with Driehoek Management.

When to go?

The Easter period is traditionally the time when South Africans go on a mountain holiday. The three long weekends that one normally has during the March to May period are therefore high season time. So also the period from Christmas to just after New year. The kids normally love high season when there are plenty of friends to play with. On Driehoek we try to have the facilities not too overcrowded, even during high season time.

Winters in the Cederberg are quite severe so the winter period of say mid May to end of August is normally not ideal for camping. Staying in one of the chalets with a fire place is a far better idea during winter. Visitors should always enquire about the weather beforehand but the full period from September to mid May is normally ideal for camping. Even mid summer is not too hot.

For those who prefer to come during a quiet period a good idea is during the week outside the school holidays. The period just before or after long weekends or school holidays are also normally quiet, say the second half of January or the whole of November.

DRIEHOEK WINES: Different competitions and judges, same winner!

Vines were first planted on Driehoek in 2006. The first wines, a 2009 Shiraz and 2010 Sauvignon Blanc, were released in 2010 and did quite well.
